  1. EXM #15 didn’t do much for me. I would have liked more focus on Illyana’s feelings about Sapna. We got a little bit, but I feel like it could’ve used a little bit more.

Death of X #3 also felt like a step down from the first two. It definitely suffers from Third Issue Syndrome, where it’s mostly just moving pieces around. Also, the stuff with Daisuke picking a codename felt like weird filler, and I would’ve loved it in an ongoing, but it seemed like a waste of panel space in this mini. That said: Alchemy! Yes! I love Alchemy! That kid’s so great, and I’ve wanted him brought back to years.

Champions #2 had some definite problems, but it was still pretty fun. I enjoyed it. And Scott was handled really well.

  2. So I loved Champions…but it brought up something that’s been bugging me a bit. The Champions kids literally compared kid Cyclops to Hitler. As of issue 3 of Death of X though: what exactly has Cyclops done that is at all Hitler-ish?

I can see a situation where he ends up coming off a bit like a supervillain…but Hitler?!?! And this is a group of characters who have been teammates with a whole variety of misunderstood heroes of one sort or another.

    Just bugged me a bit.

      1. Yeah. Just read All New X-men and Bobby refers to Scott as a one-man Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Still not seeing that exactly, but that at least seems a little more in line with events.

        But yeah it’s probably a Godwin’s Law thing. 🙂
