  1. Really great interview and discussion. It’s fascinating to me that a writer would have such a similar experience with the X books when he was a fan – really engaged, drifting out of touch and not paying attention, and then hooked by arcs or runs that are held in such high regard. I guess I think of writers as different creatures somehow, for a reason that I can’t put a finger on.

I’ve heard or read a lot of Dennis’ comments on All-New X-Men as it gets closer to launching, but I think what he said in this episode captures best why I’m anticipating it: that spirit of idealism and taking everything on before the world crushes your spirit. A lot of the X-books since Schism, to me anyway, have felt like they reflected that crushed spirit. And I honestly feel like the world has passed me by and that life has ground me down way more often than I’d like. So to read something with that spirit and idealism and energy really appeals to me.

The live episode at RCCC was such a blast, I really wish I could make it down to the Vegas Valley show. Hope it’s a great experience for the X-perts!

  2. SO GOOD. Thanks for this. I wasn’t necessarily planning on pulling any X-books for ANAD Marvel (my pull list has never been more than 3 books), but this interview is making me question that decision…

  3. I was enjoying the interview with Hopeless, but Stitcher only has the first 30 min of your podcast. Could you fix that please?

    1. We’ve contacted Stitcher, but the turnaround time for stuff like this is generally pretty long on their end. Meanwhile, we’d recommend streaming downloading directly from the post above.

  4. Been loving your podcast for over a year, so i hate that my first comment is a critical one, but here I go anyway. I can’t believe you didn’t go with “The Kids are All-New” as the episode title. Just felt like a missed opportunity. Love the show!

  5. It is really interesting listening to the conversation about X teams that are iconic. It becomes obvious to me that I’m not a /lot/ older but I’m just enough older that all of those mile posts are a little later in my life. Like, I was in high school into college for the cartoon and graduated college already for Morrison’s run and I can see how I would have reacted similarly had I not been in a slightly different place for them.
