Welcome, Entertainment Weekly Readers!

(There’s a “hope you survive the experience” joke in here somewhere…)

We are honored and slightly intimidated to have found ourselves on Entertainment Weekly‘s list of 20 Podcasts You Need to Hear in 2015!

If you’re new to the podcast: It’s exactly what it says on the tin. We are Rachel and Miles. We explain the X-Men, in very roughly chronological order, sometimes with the help of folks responsible for them.

For a good general introduction to who we are and what we do, we’d recommend listening to the episode Giant-Size Special #1, which covers a stand-alone story (the graphic novel God Loves, Man Kills), along with a lot of bonus material (and significantly more navelgazing than usual).

We also do weekly video reviews of current X-books, which you can find here.

Rachel and Miles X-Plain the X-Men is listener supported and ad-free. If you want to join the ranks of the rad people who make it possible for us to keep making stuff, you can do that over at Patreon!

  1. Yaybo indeed! That’s really rad! I’ve been subscribing to/reading EW for over 20 years and this is the first time that I’m waaaaay ahead of them in discovering something cool. They have always been genre/nerd friendly and I’m glad that you’re getting some recognition. See if they’ll join us on Patreon, I think they can afford it.

  2. Yaybo!!!! Congrats, you two! Listener since episode 4, and I couldn’t be happier that you’ve got this chance at some new listeners.

And newbies, welcome! This is a great community and a SUPERAMAZING podcast. Enjoy all the x-citing (couldn’t resist) content!

  3. Count me as one of the new EW-referred fans. X-Men fan for 35 years now, and I had to pull over my car within the first 30 seconds of episode 1 due to laughter tears blindness. Rachel & Miles are the frickin’ best.

  4. Since reading the EW blurb, I have blown through the entire archive. I am about to start the most recent podcast and I am terrified. Can I hold out or will tomorrow find me deliriously explaining the Cross-time Caper with Rachael & Miles finger puppets? I hope I survive the experience.
