  1. Old Man Logan is so good. I am always down for a Jubesverine moment. They’re one of my favourite friendships. And the art is SO GORGEOUS! Sorrentino and Maiolo are amazing. They just blow everything away. (And anyone who talks about Sorrentino without talking about Maiolo fails at comics, because Maiolo absolutely completes the art and is integral to the story.) Also, I really like how Sorrentino draws Jubilee.

ANXM was really good. I felt it wasn’t quite as good as the previous two issues, but still a great finale to the arc. This arc was the first time I genuinely cared about Evan, and I do hope that he doesn’t end up becoming Apocalypse again.

That Choosing Sides story is so great. I loved it. The Misty and Storm sections were the best part. I loved how Storm was written as happy and embracing life, and it’s so great.

Now is actually expanding my pull list, but I was so disappointed that they couldn’t do a single LGBT solo title. It bothers me. Why can they not give Ms. America a solo! She needs a solo!

I’ll be picking up Champions. I’ve enjoyed Waid’s ANAD Avengers, and it’s a cool line-up. I’ll also get USAvengers, because New Avengers has been delightful. I do hate that ‘Berto’s been so lightened over the years. It’s annoying. And Jubilee in Hellcat will be wonderful!

  2. When did Negasonic die for the second time? As far as I know she only appeared twice – in her debut/death in Morrison’s run, and in Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men. Except it wasn’t even really her in AXM, just a psychic projection.

    1. Hadn’t seen that article, but I completely agree with it. Sunspot isn’t even my favourite New Mutant by a long chalk, but it annoys the hell out of me every time I see him looking like he does now.

  3. Thank you Jay and Miles for being the only voice of reason left on the internet. It feels like fandom spent the whole of the 90s and 00s complaining that the x-line was spread too thin but now that it’s down to an lean four ongoing everyone’s freaked that it’s the end of the world. As someone who’s not currently electrified by any of the current x-books, I know that the inevitable creative term turnover will eventually deliver me something to cherish. It’s happened before and will happen again, and in the meantime I can enjoy how many x-characters are popping up in other Marvel books.

  4. Regarding Logan and Jean, they may have kissed a few times in the past, but not sure you can call that as being romantically involved (which implies to an actual serious/sexual relationship) when they never actually hooked up in 616. I honestly don’t believe their dynamic in 616 to be that big of a deal some people make it out to be.
