I like to imagine that Kitty and Doug’s side adventures are the subject of a mid-’80s feature film starring Jenny Lewis. (X-Men #180)

Games in the 80s could totally break if you scored too high. My brother did this to a home game we had.

There are actually quite a few old arcade games that had kill screen. However, those were almost always caused from getting farther in the game then the developers ever predicted. The most famous example is Pac-Man where if you get to round 256 there is a glitch that causes the game to be unplayable.

I’ve never heard of one happening because someone maxed out the score, and I almost wonder if Claremont got it confused with analog pinball machines where you could max out the score.
