Last night, Jay gave a talk about the mutant metaphor and representation at Books With Pictures in Portland, Oregon. Here’s most of it!
Mind if I share this on Facebook? This is fascinating.
Go for it!
That was amazing! I literally jumped out of my chair, screaming, “Yes!” at “I want to see the blind kid at the Xavier School who can’t get around using their precognition.”
This is about sixty kinds of awesome. Thank you for sharing this, thank you for perhaps the most joyful podcast of my week, thank you for making it more than okay to be passionately smart and loud about inclusion in comics. It’s possible for culture to be both wildly popular and reflective while also being quality, and you’re proof of this. Keep fighting the good fight.
Thanks for this, Jay. Great talk. I only with it hadn’t cut out at the end!
