I unironically love X-Men Origins Wolverine. I’ll even go so far as to say it’s my favorite “solo” Wolverine movie.
It’s over the top, it’s ridiculous and its plot barely holds together but it’s also a lot of fun.
I’m all for more serious minded meditations on life, death, and everything in between. Sometimes, though, I just want to see one of my favorite superheroes walking away from explosions. Or riding a bike out of one.
I do wish some of the effects had been better though. The claws in the bathroom scene look more like something out of Roger Rabbit rather than actual metal.
I always thought of Romulus as
Romulus : Wolverine :: Mr Sinister : The Summers Family
I kind of even assume that was the initial editorial idea that lead to his creation. “Wolverine needs his own Sinister, but he can’t be glam rock, so let’s make this one nu-metal! The kids will love it!”
