  1. “Fascinating” as a certain human/Vulcan hybrid might note (though some still argue that that’s only because the Universal Translator had been modified to translate the Vulcan for “You are all hyperemotional children who drive me to utter f***ing distraction!” into the word “Fascinating”)

Delighted that the Celestials and nuclear tests being the cause of the dawn of the mutants got a look in! 🙂

Inhumans and Mutants can create kids, Luna being the only example of note I think.

And Inhumans breeding with Humans ages back led to the whole Nuhuman thing, seemingly normal humans who were affected by the Terrigen Bomb (though many died in the process as they weren’t Inhuman enough)

The notion that the same trigger can give us everything from Magneto to Maggott, and Storm to Glob Herman is always amusing.

Again I’m reminded of the old Mutant X show, which gave us four categories of “New Mutants”, in show that was a process for genetically engineering children, ostensibly to correct possibly life threatening conditions in utero, but used as a testing ground for some very dodgy things by some seriously messed up researchers and, as a side effect, giving many of them powers. They were classed as:

Feral – Usually had had animal DNA grafted in, feline and canine being the most common, but according to the wiki they also featured avians, beetles, bovines, cervines, fishes, hornets, porcines, reptiles, ursines, wasps, scorpions, and one instance of a spider who was barely human any more. Wolverine, Wolfsbane and, of course, Feral, would be included.

Elemental – Those who can manipulate the energy of natural forces, like lightning, heat, sound, plants, light, water, earth, kinetic energy etc. So Storm, Cyclops, Dazzler and Magma would all be in that category.

Molecular – Can manipulate their own molecules or the molecules of things they touch. Powers like phasing, density control, shapeshifting and invisibiity all fall into this category. Shadowcat, Colossus, Alchemy,

Psionic – Telepaths, telekinetics, psychometric abilities and empaths
